How Arcus checks for new desktop builds and what to do when an update is available.

Check for updates

  1. Open Settings and find Updates (or the version label in the app menu).
  2. Choose Check for updates. Arcus contacts the release channel for your platform.
  3. When a build is ready, download and install it, then relaunch.

Windows and Mac notes

  • Windows builds are not Authenticode-signed yet; SmartScreen may warn once per build.
  • Mac builds are not notarized yet; right-click → Open the first time after an update.
  • Your connectors and local index stay on the machine across updates.
